We normally see the world as "out there" and ourselves as "in here". But when winter arrives, we are gently reminded of a truth we've lost in our modern world. If you take a look under the hood, you'll find that us humans, like the environment we live in, are cyclical beings - deeply attuned to and influenced by the subtle changes happening around us. Sometimes we are carried by activity, other times we need to be resting; sometimes expanding, other times contracting & integrating. Staying too long in one mode causes burnout or, on the other end, stagnation. The pendulum swings, keeping balance on a personal level as well as a planetary one.
